I don't think SS version will depress the sales of the WG version.
Daytona and other series have WG version for years, people who want WG will still buy them, even if there are SS versions available.
WG has more shine and heft, it will make you feel special and at the same time understated.
If submariner have a platinum version, I will definitely save up for one.
