The Daytona is a rock solid chrono with an impressive pedigree, but it is just another fine Rolex of many. Its resale is the result of forced exclusivity by Rolex in limiting supply, as opposed to the other models now which are based on surging demand.
However the high resale starts to draw it into the sphere of the really big chrono boys, like the Lange 1815 chrono below and when you look at the beautiful, mesmeric movement you surely wonder why you'd pay such a premium on a Daytona. It's worth it's retail for sure but it's not in this Haute league at all.
