I tried on 5172 the other day, it wears ok, I like the stepped lugs, but not the fact it's a 41mm chrono. One thing I hate about those bigger cases is that I had a 37mm and 41mm (15400st) AP RO at one stage, same movement, and it just looked bad on on the bigger case. Never seen a 5170 in real life
Anyway I am not familiar with Caliber CH 29‑535 PS, but is it the same movement on 5370P? I have heard that watches under Grand Complication would receive better hand finishing? But if 5172/5170 share the same movement to 5170, are they equally well finished?
Lastly, is the price difference between 5172 (new) and 5170 (preowned) significant?

Go for the 5170p. The size is a fantastic combination of classic and modern. And given the thickness and size, it wears elegantly and sporty. The watch is superb. [emoji106]
And the movement fits perfectly in the case.
