Hmmm ... The nature of the deal is tough to assess. It's a great story, and kudos to the OP for having the patience and determination to get the end result. However, all vintage qualities of this watch are now gone, although I realize that when purchased the watch was already a wreck.

This Sub now looks fantastic and is super cool, but I'm not sure about its appeal/value in the world of vintage watch collecting.
