That's a very good point. I think folks underestimate how difficult it may be for an "average Joe" seller to safely move a Rolex in a private sale without extensive sales history or references.

Sure you can use eBay, but you'll be paying $700 for the pleasure (max final value fee) and there's a strong chance you'll have to deal with some nonsense from the seller after the sale, i.e. "it runs 3.5 seconds fast" or "I looked at it under a loupe..."
