I own a few Speedmasters and one Daytona. Each piece sings to me in a different way, and the diversity allows me to pick by my mood. I don’t have any ranking of which is better.
Sometimes, I want to enjoy the rugged good looks of my Zenith Daytona with its wonderful combination of black subdial rings on white dial, polished steel bezel and brushed lugs. Sometimes, I want to go vintage with my 1967 105.012 Moonwatch and stare at its beautiful patina. Sometimes, I want to wear my panda dial Mitsukoshi Speedmaster and appreciate that it’s actually one of the original 300 watches that Omega produced for the Japanese department store. Sometimes, I just want to strap on a watch with a fun name and a bunch of Speedmaster nerd design elements.
