It all depends on your tolerance for loss. The resale will likely be under $3k so you're looking at a $600 loss vs $1000.
I'd offer the guy on chrono24 $3200 or $3400 and try to get it for that.
Current breitling come with warranty devices they activate online. It's a much different process from Rolex.
