I maybe making a mountain out of a mole hill but that isn't good for the prestigious brand of AP and whoever designed it, and even worse, approved it, should be fired. I hope this kind of thing isn't adopted elsewhere as it would tarnish the brand image for me.
I bought an Omega recently (first one) and the quality of presentation was superb - better than AP and way better than Rolex. I realise it doesn't directly effect the watch itself, but presentation goes a long way to building brand value and loyalty.

I agree with this.
Beyond looking tawdry, this raises a number of questions for those who will buy APs second-hand - how do you tell how much warranty is left if theres no date? How do you register a new owner online if the original owner has already registered ownership?
