I had similar concerns when I was buying mine last year and ended up buying it. Been keeping eye on market value and they’re still above retail. Not quite appreciating like Rolex sports models naturally but if it does it for you, then why to buy something that doesn’t do it?
They’re quite expensive so always good to consider value retention and 44 models are holding it very well. Worst case (unlikely), you resell at same as your purchase.
