I think IWC and Panerai have a lot in common. While the former is primarily known for their pilot's watches and the latter for their dive watches, there is a lot more that is similar. Both are born out of WWII instruments. Both are generally oversized and worn on leather straps. Both have Swiss build, but a different design aesthetic (German and Italian respectively). They have similar price points and both brands are generally known for experimenting with new casing materials.
