This unusually clean example of the Seikomatic 6218-8971 Weekdater has just returned from a service at Michael Young’s
Classic Watch Repair, complete with correct new caseback and crown seals.
Condition
The case condition is very good, still with sharp lug chamfers. The crown & dolphin caseback is well defined, while the uncommon silver vertical-brushed dial is particularly outstanding, with sharp text and bright Seiko logo and day/date frames. Hands are also clean and sharp.
I carefully timed the movement over several days after its return from service, and it gained +2 seconds over 24 hours when worn during the day and left crown up overnight.
