I think that's the perception Rolex wants people to have through their marketing and positioning. Omega is on par with Rolex.

Every time I try to buy a Rolex. Something else comes up.

1st time, I was after a Submariner and the 2500c Planet Ocean came up (let go later on due to defects with the movement)


2nd time the IWC Pilot 3717, my favourite all time chronograph


Two weeks ago, the submariner got pushed aside again for this


Never regretted my decision. The SS shortage made the decision easy time time around, but I still would have gone PO over sub in the end.
