Most links are interchangeable with some slight exceptions.... polished sides or centers, and the latest ones are of the "solid" design.
A Frankenwatch is a watch assembled from a box of odd parts to resemble something that is was not originally.
A link or the like doesn't make a watch any such thing, even remotely.
