This whole thread is a great read. I've owned a U series 16700 since new from an Edinburgh AD. Arrived in store January 2000 and I bought it same day. Delighted to read that it must be among the last 16700s made.
After 16 years with the original black bezel I'm motivated to get a black/red bezel which will make it look like a whole new watch while keeping the same familiar comfort/feel.
