I am now retired and so are the doctors and dentists who treated me in my prime. I felt that if I had an emergency situation, these people would figure out how to accommodate me..

I saw an orthopod one time two weeks ago in South Florida, he doesn’t know me from Adam, but I called in distress on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving and the Monday a few days later (today). I advised them that I had to go to the ER on Friday night and they gave me percocet. I was in great pain and couldn’t walk or sleep. No one would accommodate and see me on or near the days that I called. I would have seen any orthopod in this multi-physician office.

Is this the new normal in American medicine? I am lucky that I had dedicated physicians who showed up for me earlier in my life.
