This is not true. Rolex said in a memo that the average service interval had increased to ten years, but Rolex did not make this recommendation.

Five to seven years is still what they recommend, but that's dependent on a number of variables, like how often you wear your watches and for how long.

My Rolex watches can set for months sometimes.
