YMMV. I suspect that not having any complications helps. Also it probably helps that I don't shower with it so skin oil and grime has totally sealed off the internal mechanisms from the outside by forming a barrier between the crystal and bezel, and bezel and case.

It is my only watch so it has been worn every day except for a 2-3 week hospitalization.
