Tudor was originally founded as a more affordable alternative to Rolex. By that rationale, one could call it a "poor man's Rolex" however I believe that would be doing the brand a disservice. Personally, I feel that the modern Tudor line up is truer to the roots of Rolex as a tool watch that was prized by adventurers and sportsmen. The Pelagos for example is an exceptionally durable and handsome piece that feels closer in spirit to the old Submariners than the modern ones do.
