To be frank, I don't like the Omega Seamaster. The wave dial, the hands, the flat wide numerals on the bezel, all unattractive in my eyes. Moreover, the bracelet is too playful, seems out of sync with the rest, and it is also pretty ugly on a standalone basis IMO. For me, this piece clearly ranks below average among midrange sports watches from the likes of IWC, Omega, or Rolex.
In contrast, I can find little wrong with the GS and I am sure it is a great watch, but I am not attracted to it. It is just not the most exciting looking watch in my eyes. Never handled a GS in real life though as they are uncommon where I live. Different story in the US I understand...
As a result I might go Zenith or, more likely, look elsewhere altogether...
