Every AD may be a bit different. Independent retailers will tell you its a "waitlist" but reserve for loyal and big spender customers. Torneau doesn't have a waitlist but you have to get lucky and be vetted into getting one. They tell you they will take down your information. I got luck with my Sub Date as we were purchasing it for my wedding. Also, being persistence is also key!
