I’m not entirely sure I understand what you mean by the era of the DD but it has always been regarded as the king of Rolex (even if hype pieces usually steal the limelight).

If you’re asking if the DD will suddenly start selling in much higher numbers due to some new dial/metal configurations, I doubt it. Its style doesn’t align with many modern day Rolex fans, it’s price puts it out of reach for many, and some just wouldn’t feel right wearing that much watch due to crime and/or just the general attention it would draw.

For those who were previously on the fence though and just waiting for more options to become available, the increase in variety may tempt them more now than before.
