I could give you all the conventional defenses, but certainly you are more than familiar with them. Surely, you also know that Tiffany's is not Wempe, Beyer, or Bücherer, or your AD. I don't recall a cult movie where the allure of their merchandise represented the ultimate aspiration of its protagonist.
There is no rational explanation of the "hype." Shall we say: horses for courses?
