Very nice box and roll! I have about 30 watches, many are WW2 military, not terribly expensive. I have those in a special box on pillows that I keep in my closet. I don't wear them much.

I have a box to fit 5 Rolex. I have a box to fit 5 Seiko. I have a box to fit 5 miscellaneous. Those stay on my dresser. They are all the same, rectangular, have windowed tops, and have pillows. Like your friend's roll, they're portable and can get locked up when I'm away.

And like your other friend, I keep a few beaters in the top dresser drawer.

I also keep a small, black, inexpensive velvet pad on top of my dresser and leave my watch there when I take it off for the day. I don't put it back in the box.
