The OP had an itch for the Panerai, scratched it, and can be done with it now. If scratching that itch costs some money it was still worth it. The alternative is still having that itch and never getting satisfaction. When I get an itch like that, if I don't scratch it I will obsess over it and lose sleep. Avoiding that cannot be valued in terms of dollars, at least not for me.

So I say flip the Panerai, take the hit, and move on.
