Got to be honest, but I never really understand the "is it redundant" question... especially when they're different models.

I've owned (and actually do currently own) a couple of watches of the same model, just in different dial colours. Why? Because I like the watch and I like both dial colours. Simple.

There are no rules on how people should or shouldn't enjoy their watches, so my advice is buy what you like, when you like it, and stop worrying about how the collection "looks".
