The alinghi is pretty awesome. When I first got into AP, I jumped to this watch. But it's not worth getting.
As everyone else has said, the carbon on this model sucked. It flakes off, the bezel is crap, the resale market for it DIED. I wouldn't even say it softened, it's practically dead unless you give the watch away.
If you want carbon go for the Carbon ROO ceramic. It's a better way to get into the FC AP world. Anything else is over 100k currently.
