I do feel bad that this happened to you. White gold and a belt buckle are not a good combination, and I remember that awful feeling pretty well.
But, I think it's great that you actually wear your watches. And having a positive attitude, like you do, helps with a lot more than just watch repair.
Best of luck on the damage mitigation. I am still living with my cut (on the bracelet, so not even in the same league).
