Tom vs. Dave debate aside, 2005 isn't a good base year to compare Rolex to a SBDB001. That's literally the year automatic Spring Drives debuted at Basel. It was a whole new type of movement, previously only seen in handwound Credors.
Now Spring Drives are produced in larger numbers and much more efficiently. The premium on them has rightfully decreased (relatively). Hi-Beat GS's still have great resale.
