Will do that for sure but with Xmas/holidays around the corner and presumably they send it back to Switzerland to fix, this process will take a long long time.

Unfortunate timing, if that needs to be the case, but ultimately immaterial as you'll rightfully expect an extension to the warranty commesurate with the time away from you.
