Don't underestimate the importance of that factoid from the article: Zenith couldn't be sold here because of the electronics firm's trademark. That's decades of marketing presence lost. I bought a few of the "vintage" (1970s) El Primeros back in the 90s because they were such amazing watches. I had one that was so well tuned it was at least as accurate as a quartz, and that is not an exaggeration because many of the 90s quartz movements were very, very cheaply assembled. I'm not planning of letting go of my Daytona with the Zenith component because I do love the brand. That being said, the new models are odd, not really that exciting. Can't wait to see what they do with the brand.
