62gs case watches (e.g. shunbun) seem to have a slightly more tapered bracelet. I'm not sure about actual measurements, but at least the visual impact is there. It looks more elegant.
Many of the watches come with a 19mm lug width (particularly 44gs and elegance models). At least for my average size (17 cm) wrist a bracelet starting at 19mm shouldn't taper much, or it'll look too small. However, I agree that most would look and feel better if increased to 20mm and tapered more.
