There are a few occasions where pieces have been listed as non LE's and then later are changed to LE's and it appears it might be a retroactive designation. If the pieces are not numbered they may see how many initially sell and then decide on the production run. So maybe they haven't decided how many they will make yet. If its not going to be part of the permanent collection which i don't think it will, the edition size might depend on demand.
Sounds a bit far fetched but both special edition Ti/Pt watches (SE ROC and SE 33mm quartz) were not listed as LE's at launch per AP's website. Hodinkee's article at launch specifically stated the SE ROC was not limited but just a boutique exclusive. Nearly a year later AP's website changed and said it was a LE of 500.
