So imagine this; years later the watch is sold by the original owner to a private party, then it goes in for service and Rolex sees your original report of it being stolen. Opens a big can of worms.

Terrible to think someone would be so crooked. I'd hope Rolex would trace down to original AD to see who watch sold to and when.
