I've seen the three white metals next to each other and I CAN tell the difference.
Since I don't care if somebody would mistake a white gold watch as SS, I would still get the precious metal in white for me. I would love a white gold Daytona, and would certainly appreciate the metal over stainless, though there isn't anything wrong with stainless. I want a SS sub hulk, but one should not consider that a white precious metal isn't worth buying because OTHERS might think its stainless and you wouldn't want them mistaking it for steel.
Why would you care that they think its steel?
