You should really try both of them on to get a feel for them to be honest. I have have a 312 personally and love it. However I do love the new slim version of the 1950's case as compared to mine because it does ride higher on the wrist.
I am not a fan of the blue accent hand and the word automatic on the dial on the 1312. If they made everything like the 312 except for the case of the 1312 then i would be all over that.
