I agree with OP. Unfortunately though, Rolexes have turned from being well constructed tool watches to just status symbols for rich. My father worn an Air King for 50+ years. It was not a status symbol but just a well made watch that he could use to tell the time. It was given to him as a gift and he could care less about the brand. Seems like too much elitism now with buying Rolexes these days. It’s so sad.
