Yup -- the I'm referring to the darker spots that I marked up. It looks like looks like a layer of shine on the otherwise brushed case/bracelet. Like it would be oil from your fingers/etc. Stuff that you'd think would wipe off or wash off with soap.
@77T - that's interesting. Hadn't concerned stuff seeping into the valley of the grain.

Ah gotcha. I’ve seen something similar on other peoples pieces, but not sure what causes this or what the remedy is.
AP corporate customer service is pretty responsive. I’d try reaching out to them and showing them photos, also reaching out to the local boutique.
