Since it is friction, is there any logic to applying a tiny drop of oil to the links and pins to lessen that friction? There may an argument that the oil would keep any dirt or grit trapped in the links, exacerbating the problem. Also, no matter how little oil is used, it may be too messy.
Has anyone tried it?
