I think pens, moreso than watches, are very subjective and personal tools. I like the weight and feel of Mont Blanc, but when it comes to the writing...I like Sailor and Pelikan over all other. A lot of members seem to like the Lamy Safari as sort of an introductory pen. I own one, but it's not for me. As an intro pen, I'd suggest something from Pilot. Good luck in your search.
