i tend to be fine with some of them. Hulk for instance is fitting and it doesn't bug me at all. Others like Batman i can't stand. It is totally illogical, and i don't know why I'm ok with some but not others.

Don't get me started on the "james cameron watch" that is the absolute worst one EVER and its not even a nickname. It commemorates the dive, not the person. It makes about as much sense as me nicknaming my profile picture as my "James Cameron Avatar"

It might be because some watches developed a nickname over time and rather organically. It was "earned" in a way. Now, everyone automatically tries to force a nickname on every single watch.
