On April 15th (the day I took this photo - see Month and Date at 3 & 4 o'clock), this beauty of a timepiece indicated the Equation of Time at zero, meaning that at this very moment Apparent Solar Time (or True Sundial) was equal to Mean Solar Time (or Civil Hour). This occurs only four times a year.
Then from the next day, the indicator will progressively move to the left until May 14th and will swing back to zero again on June 12th as it will do later on September 1st and December 24th.
