I have a GW-5000 and would highly recommend it. I've had cheaper G's in the past, but I think the light weight of them made me never take them very seriously, and never got any wrist time. I would just wear an SKX.
But the GW-5000 with the metal case, I've heard some people complain about the weight. For me, it feels like a real watch, not a toy. The resin bumpers and recessed crystal make me feel like it can take anything without a second thought, unlike the SKX where I would still worry about scratches.
The new "Casioak" GA-2100 definitely caught my eye, but again, I wonder if I'd actually wear it.
