Lugs thickness

I am currently looking for a 1675/16750 and my major focus is to get a watch where the lugs have not been aggressively polished down.

I determine this by looking at the lugholes. If the end of the springbar almost sticks out (assuming that genuine Rolex springbars have been used) the lugs seem to be heavily polished.

Am I correct with my way of analyzing the lug thickness, any other ideas?

And I wonder, when we will see the first non-lughole models, where the lugs have been so ground down that we can see holes...
