Omega CS rant

I bought an Aqua Terra "blue wave" dial from one of our trusted sellers. The watch is gorgeous - but the bracelet is awfully small. I can close the watch on my wrist, but it is tight. So, I spoke to my SA at my local Omega store, who said he'd order me two extra links.

That was over a month ago.

Omega, as it turns out, decided to upgrade their systems in April. They have not been able to sell any parts since that time, because the rollout of their new computer sales system has been marred with problems. To call it frustrating is an understatement. My SA tells me they haven't been able to buy any parts for any customer in more than 4 weeks.

The “customer service rant” is that the AD didn’t get you two links more quickly even though you didn’t buy the watch from them or new from Omega?

Not at all. My customer-service rant is that Omega's entire ordering system has been down for over a month. My AD is great, this certainly isn't their fault.

Get them on eBay or chrono for a lot cheaper

Weird. I was able to order a Bracelet from Omega over the phone last week. Maybe Canada is unaffected?

That's really interesting. Perhaps, but then you'd think they would have found a workaround at this point. But I'm glad you were able to get your bracelet!

I've looked on each and haven't found OEM links for this specific model. They are apparently only $49 from Omega, so I'm not sure how much cheaper they would be at Chrono or eBay, anyway.

This can be really frustrating and it takes away the excitement of wearing that new long awaited purchase.

I hope this gets rectified soon.

I've read other reports about this in the past few weeks. Sorry it's causing you grief. In this technological day and age it seems things like this could/should be sorted in days, not weeks or months.

My local Omega Boutique was also upgrading their systems, for what it's worth.

Sorry for the trouble. Maybe go in and find an OEM strap that works for you until the system is back up. Ask for a discount.

I'm guessing the watch was not fully linked. A Nato or other strap should get you by until the additional links can be acquired.

I had the same thought, although when I have tried on Omegas with bracelets versus straps, they always seem tighter than Rolex, Panerai, Breitling, etc. Not sure why that is, perhaps the factory bracelet length is just a titch smaller than the other brands. All of my other Omegas are on straps, so I've never encountered this before. Since I bought it grey (from one of our trusted sellers), it certainly occurred to me that perhaps whomever it was acquired from didn't hand over all the links with the watch.

Precisely. I've had several conversations with my SA and there's a ton of business they haven't been able to process because of it. They are unbelievably frustrated.

Huzzah! My links have finally been ordered. Seems like the Omega portal is back up and running again.

Quick question?

Do you have a yuuuge wrist or did the TRF seller not include all links? If they didn't, did they specifically advertise the watch as "fits up to 7.25 wrist" etc.?

If they are advertising as full kit , all links should be included. I'd email with the list link and see if they can help you out.
