when is it safe to sell a Rolex watch?

Probably due to financial reasons. Some people can only own 1 or 2 at a time which is fine. Might have to trade up or down. Almost like cars.

Funny. I wonder how many folks have actually listed the watch for sale somewhere on their phone before they even leave the AD. One re-seller in Geneva said a while back in a video that folks come directly from the boutiques to their store to sell. Hopefully, the craziness has subsided a lot since then.

Rolex does not keep any records of serial number unless it is reported Stolen to Rolex more than likely by an insurance company.

Your AD might keep some information on sales but it’s definitely not used to scour the internet for a customer selling their watch. That would be insane by an AD to invest in a program built to do that.

I think it’s not as a big a risk now with Rolex as the cards have no identifying information. How would the buyer know where you got it? It shouldn’t need service for 5 years and the buyer is probably not going to service it in your store. At least in the US, which is so big.

Bencoolen shopping mall, Far east plaza, chinatown complex, etc.. just to name a few location that have many secondary watch sellers. There is just way too many watch flippers.

People re-sell brand new watches mostly because they can make a quick profit. They can only make the profit because the demand is there for the watches. Flippers cannot increase demand; demand brings out the flippers with the allure of profits. Your area just has a lot of demand for Rolex and inevitably the watches will trade at fair market value in such places. Not too good for you and others who just want to build collections at MSRP.

You can also sell new watches at a small hit sometimes, but it will set you up to buy at retail the watch you want. You can save money that way, depending on the watch you sell and the watch you buy. Not a white gold sub, but maybe an OP or DJ.

Just make sure you are wearing a Rolex, that you bought from the AD, when visiting to talk about getting a Pepsi. If you’ve bought several watches from the AD, I think you’re being paranoid. Just sell the watch.

That is true, yet very unfortunate for someone whom just want to start a watch collection with Rolex as a first timer.
