ADs are almost all a complete waste of time for Rolex. Even the VIPs are getting hosed. The VVIP are friends and family of the owners. Everyone else gets no Vaseline.

Haha, I still got invited to their special events. Must have been my purchase history which was $75-$100K per year over the last several years. I guess it didn't count towards getting an allocation for an in-demand piece that typically has a market value considerably higher than MSRP for two reasons, first off it was small potatoes compared to their "whales" and secondly it was all for watches which have the lowest margin of all products in the store. Heck if they had a gumball machine at the door it would have generated a higher profit margin percentage than a Rolex.

Yea honestly I don’t even count my Rolex spend history as anything they’d even care about. It’s all about the other purchases for the wife they like

Idk, within 1.5 years you have purchased four rolex watches.. the AD might think you are a flipper buddy.

When you say Southeast I assume FL. In FL you need a decent spend I am in Tampa and to get to VIP or whatever the Daytona status, it took awhile. I got my first Daytona in 2022 (white dial 6500). Skydweller was a little easier to get.

Isn't this normal? My AD has a 3 per year limit.

I would agree. The volume of Rolex watches they sell really isn’t enough to pay the overhead, so they force you to spend extra elsewhere. The watch is just the carrot.

Speaking of bundling, there’s a liquor store nearby that bundles some of the harder to find allocated bourbons with lesser bottles. It’s transparent and the price per bottle is still msrp. I think I would rather an AD take this approach. Just tell me exactly what else I need to buy so I can get the watch I want and I can move on with my life.

AD in Singapore allows one Rolex purchase per calendar year.

I am not sure what is normal anymore, but if you guys can afford that many watches per year, kudos to the collection/hobby.

And the AD keeps reeling you in hook, line, and sinker. Ouch!

The relationship is more than the spend. But with 25k in jewelery, few watches, you definitely seem in line for a nice sports model with a 12-18 month timeframe. Just keep the relationship good and be patient. Best thing to do is express interest in the pieces you want.

What some people like you fail to understand is I’m spending this money anyway on purchases for my wife. It’s a bonus that I get a rolex out of it.

My issue with that policy is that I can find my wife higher quality gifts elsewhere. Better quality stones better prices etc etc

I guess I’m a bit old-fashioned in the way I conduct my transactions.
If I’m going to spend my money, they’re going to have to earn my business. And the first thing they’re going to have to show me to earn my business is respect. The same respect I show them when I walk into their store.
I just sent a text to my SA to help me find a piece of jewelry for my wife’s upcoming birthday however, that was not until she had delivered a Rolex to me prior to having made any purchases in the store.
I think it has a lot to do with the way people present themselves.

Are you friendly and easy to talk to? Do you seem to keep and wear your watches? That’s most important.
