AP 15300 vs 15400 Size
Hi Everyone,
So i want to pull a trigger on a an AP. Ive tried on the 15400 and like it but it is a little big. Ive never seen a 15300 and dont have a chance to try it on. Ill just need to buy it and hope its the right size. I know about both so no need to discuss anything other than size. My question is between the two which has a thicker case? With has a thicker bracelet? And opinions on the deployment clasp of both? Also do they both sit on the wrist the same. I feel they are very flat backed watches. Im also consider the chrono's in 39mm and 41mm. How thick are those both in the case and the bracelet. Does the 39mm chrono use the same bracelet at the 15300. PS. I am not considering the 15202 which i believe is the best one. But due to price. Might as well get a PM model rolex imo. Thank you

No one has personal knowledge of the sizes/thickness between the two?

Is that also in terms of bracelet thickness as well? Is the 15300 bracelet thinner than its newer counterpart 15400?

No idea watches measured by case thickness so couldn't tell you on bracelet as that isn't listed anywhere. So short of trying to measure yourself your guess is as good as mine. I can tell you that Royal Oak bracelets are finished second to none and extremely comfortable.

I can tell you that all of these watches wear big. It is just the style and the way it is. I am wearing a 44 mm now and love it. You will get used to it once you start wearing one. The 15400 is stunning. Did you get to try one on before deciding it was too big?

Both my 44's wear slightly big (for a 44mm case), my 25820 and 15400 didn't wear big due to their thickness, or lack of. The 25820's bracelet was thinner than the 15400 iirc.

I'm thinking about a 15400st someday. Check out this review if you haven't already, thought it might be useful. https://youtu.be/q4yySY3plNk

My feeling was the 300 and 400 had very similar thickness of bracelet, as even if the 400s is slightly thicker as the 300's is narrower they sort of cancel each other out. At 41mm I prefer the ROC to fill up the rather wide dial. At 39mm I like the RO.

The 15300 is very comfortable and wears bigger than its 39mm. Clasp feels positive and solid.

Very subjective but for me the 15400 needs a seven inch wrist or larger. The 39mm is more appropriate for wrists smaller than seven inches.

Love my 15400, I have very small wrists and I think it works.

Depends on what you want- the 39 is better for dress and the 41 better for sport.
If white, no question I go with 15400. The silver tone is more attractive to me. |

I have the 6.75 wrist and the 15300 fits a lot better than the 15400. The case shape is really odd/ the area that meets the bracelet isn't flush with the wrist. Have to try before you buy for sure

Another 6.5" wrist fan of the 15300.
Yes. Trying these on pre-purchase is a must! An expensive mistake could be avoided. |

I owned a silver dial 15400 which fit my 7" wrist fine, but just felt like a pie pan. Maybe if it was a black dial it would have stuck around longer.
I've owed a few other APs since and I now have a black dial 15300 and it fits much better and really feels perfect on my wrist. The 15202 feels a bit to fragile for me and the added thickness/heft of the 15300 is a happy medium for me personally. BZ |

I've had both and prefer the size of the 15300. I'm considering letting mine go to get the 15202 though.

15400 looked good on both myself 7.5 wrist and on my fiancée 6.25 wrist.
OP I know your taste mate, especially from the dream Rolex thread. Get the 15400 in black dial, you won't regret it. |

If you can find a new old stock 15300, it might be the sweet spot for someone who finds the 15400 a little too big.
The 15400 and 15300 bracelets look about the same to my eye. I think it's worth trying on the 15450 (37mm) as well. It can be had relatively cheaply and wears larger than 37mm. |

I tried on a 15400 for the first time last week. I really wanted to LOVE it, but I just didn't. I think the dial might be too big for something so simple.

15400 is perfection.... I didn't like it in photos but in the metal it is fantastic.
