Share your feeling after wearing your rolex for the first time

Finally after months of thought I finally decided to buy my first rolex. It was an easy decision to chose submariner 116610LN among all other models. Much easier to decide than whether to get me a rolex or not.

My first impression after wearing my Sub-C date is I have the sensation of accomplishment that mark all achievement I have done for myself. Really boost my confidence but NOT in the way that I make it as a show off to other. In fact I cover it under my sleeve. It is like the sensation when you walk with USD 1000 worth of underwear inside your Jeans if you know what I mean ha ha ha

And I got good discount from the AD plus the coffee ☺️

It felt like the first time I drove my first Mercedes through the Lincoln Tunnel. The emblem had an eerie glow that just said, "this is cool."

I never thought I'd own a Rolex so when I finally bought one it felt a little surreal and yet like it truly belonged on my wrist and I haven't looked back ever since. Then I found this forum and it all feels like home.

Exactly that, well put.

Bought yesterday so still a bit of a novelty.

I've had mine for two years now and I still find myself looking at it constantly as I did the first day I put it on.

I couldn't take my eyes off my first one. I would find myself staring at my SD just because.

Didnt feel real at first. Sorta like when i got my supra. I dont think it will ever get old loving things you work so hard for and seeing them in material form. Looking at my watch makes me smile and seeing others with the same makes me happy as well!

Well, the first Rolex I bought was new from an AD. It was a TT Oyster Perpetual, Oyster bracelet. Like a DJ but without the date.

I picked it up at noon and then went to my office with it in the box, and the box was in a fine green Rolex bag. That was back in 1983. Once at work I took it out of the box, peeled the messy sticker from the case back and proceeded to set the time. I unscrewed the crown, pulled gently on it and the whole thing came off, with a small spring falling on top of my desk. Oops.

I went back to the store and traded it for a regular TT DJ with Jubilee bracelet. The DJ resulted bullet-proof, for many years I used it for all purposes, including fishing, diving, hunting. Some years ago I had it serviced in NYC and I honorably retired it. I still have it and it still looks like new.

Paranoid. I thought everyone wanted to steal it.

That wore of quickly, luckily.

Had mine for less than a week.
Same feeling as a kid with a new toy. But honestly, I'd feel the same with any new watch that I fancy. Just so happens this time around it's a Rolex.

A huge sense of accomplishment.

I remember seeing my first sub when I was 13 years old, it was on the wrist of a gentleman I went to church with. I recall going up to him and asking him what kind of watch that was and where I could get one. He explained to me it was a Rolex submariner and that I could get one when I had a good job, was financially stable and had a "little" extra money to spend on a watch.

Fast forward to today, I have a very good job, definetly financially stable, but who would have thought $7,500 would be a little extra money for a watch. I bet in 1994 the 14060 was probably 1/2 the price.

I thought "wow, I've got a new watch"
Second thought was wondering how long it would take the wife to notice. (Turns out it was 6 months later when a friend of mine tipped her off!)

The wow factor was huge for me and I enjoyed knowing that I owned something that is arguably the best watch on the market for what it is. And 25 years later the wow has faded a bit but the respect for the brand and watches has grown.
