Just want a new crystal......
I have a 16570. I have scratched up the crystal. I know I can wait unit a full service is due and send it to the RSC. Is there some way to just buy a Rolex crystal (not a 3rd party) and have it installed without having a full service? Will any AD’s or people with a Rolex parts account do it? Any recommendations helpful with names.

There are likely many watchmakers who will put a new crystal on for you. The RSC might, but they do like to require a service if the watch is a few years old.

Here is a pic. The scratch starts where the “EX” in Rolex toward the 1 o’clock position.
I only want a Rolex part and gasket, no non-Rolex part. It is also possible as I look at the closeup above the “X” may be a chip The other marks that look like dirt were dirt or smudges and they came off when I cleaned the watch after the photo. |

Back in 2004, I scratched the crystal on a 16610. Sent it to Rolex through the AD. They put a new one in for $90. No service required.

It’s not too bad I would hit it with some diamond paste first and keep using finer microns until you can no longer see the scratches.
If you really want to just replace it it depends where in the US you are. I had D’s Time service in San Diego complete one on mine once at a really good price, Tom Doan does great work. |

When I was still living in Florida, we had two local dealers with in-house watchmakers. One dealer wouldn't touch anything without doing a full movement overhaul. The other dealer was more than happy to a'la carte replace crystals, bezel inserts, etc. The cost was low-$200 range. Before shipping it somewhere, try calling around first - you might get lucky. Regarding another member's suggestion, I think that scratch with a chip in it is too deep for diamond paste to remove.
