New to vintage rolex
Hi all,
I started thinking about a birth year Rolex - 1984 to be exact. I think a submariner would be ideal but I was wondering which one of the 3 would be best? 14060 16800 5513 Can someone point me to the relative differences between the 3? Also would all vintage rolex around those years come in 8.2-8.4 serials? Thanks in advance!

For me a 5513, but lot would depend on condition, and assuming you are in Hong Kong (HK), I would go window shopping here over one weekend as there are loads of secondhand dealers, as you probably know.

16800
A few questions,
-do you want a watch that has the date on on it..? -do you like plastic of sapphire crystals -is the birth year watch a true driver for you. I would check out lots of vintage Rolexes before deciding on one year or model. This will save you time and money... As me how I know.... The 5513 and 14060 are non date models, the 16800 is just slightly larger if I recall correctly. I've owned two of 16800 models, one was a 1983 the other a 1984 year model. All three models you selected are great. You can't really go wrong with any of them...

I will start looking around and not focus on the year - lots of knowledge to be gained on this journey!

I like sapphire; doesn't scratch as easily as plastic. Date or no date--doesn't matter to me.

I would day 1675, 1680 or 5513. Take plenty of time though and read up as much as you can - it certainly pays in longer term!
